Green Mountain Water & Sanitation District is overseen by a five-member Board of Directors. The Board is the general governing body of the District, which oversees all aspects of the District and carries out the business of the District in public meetings.
A Director has a general common-law fiduciary obligation to the District. This obligation does not extend to each individual member of the District but rather to the District itself. As a fiduciary, the Directors have the duty to exercise the utmost good faith, business sense, and astuteness on behalf of the District.
Elections are held every two years, and the process is transitioning to occur in odd-numbered years. Three members are elected in one year, and two members in the next election. Members typically serve four-year terms and are limited to two terms. Directors elected in 2022 will serve a three-year term which counts toward the term limit, unless they are filling a position that is up for election due to vacancy.
Green Mountain Water & Sanitation District (the "District") is committed to ensuring that its services are accessible to all
members of the public. As part of this commitment, the District strives to provide an accessible website compatible with
the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) version 2.1, AA, and commercial screen reading software. Features of the
website are created to allow individuals with vision and other impairments to understand and use the website to the same
degree as someone without disabilities.
